On Easter Monday 2026, the Fort Mill High School Concert Choir will not just visit the stunning Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris; the 27 musicians will also sing there under the leadership of their director, Ms. Kathleen Meyer. As part of their ‘Enchantez’ Incantato Concert Tour by Inside Europe Travel Experiences, the high school students from South Carolina have been invited to present a matinee concert in one of the most acoustically astonishing, spiritually resonant, historically layered world monuments — an incredible, sacred space that is vibrating with eight and a half centuries of accumulated meaning.
“On Easter Monday, Notre-Dame doesn’t just host a performance. It participates in one.”
27 Young Voices Singing in One Extraordinary Sacred Space
Under the direction of Ms. Kathleen Meyer, who has built the Fort Mill choral program into one that earns invitations like this one, 27 singers spanning freshmen to seniors will perform in SATB formation at 11:15 AM on April 6.
The choir arrives in Paris having already established a tradition of international performance. France 2026 is the next chapter, and Notre-Dame is its centerpiece. The students are touring with family, friends, and groupies, including a school board member.
For many of these singers, this will be their first time performing outside the United States. For all of them, it will be the first time their voices meet an 8-second reverb tail in a Gothic nave that was already old when Columbus set sail. The repertoire of sacred choral works was selected with this space and this occasion in mind. In Notre-Dame, every musical choice is amplified, quite literally, by the room itself.
