Great Eats iN Germany: Showroom München
Dish at Showroom Munich
Every dish at Restaurant Showroom in Munich is a tasty work of art!

A dinner at Restaurant Showroom is one of THE foodie highlights on a Munich, Germany visit, be it for just one or even better with a group of friends. Chef Dominik Käppeler and his team welcome you to their small restaurant in a typical residential neighborhood as if you were an old friend, and chances are you leave as one.

Open only during the week, Monday through Friday for dinner, scoring at table Restaurant Showroom at the last-minute is close to winning the lottery, so we recommend to make a reservation as early as possible as you don’t want to miss out enjoying this experience for all senses, especially taste.

Unlike at some of the ‘other’ classic Michelin-starred restaurants, there is no strict dress code nor will first timers feel intimidated, the team is like the space: small, warm and welcoming. Showroom refers to itself as “a living room for your belly” and it sure lives up to that promise. Make sure to come hungry and as often as you can and your budget allows, as the fixed seven course menu priced at Euro 150 per person, changes every two weeks and “never repeats a dish”. The latter is admittedly a shame, but also admirable and confirms the chefs dedication to cooking both regional and seasonal, showcasing local producers as much as possible. The dishes are innovative and beautifully presented, but at the same time, accessible and full of special touches. ‘Cleaning’ your plate with the homemade bread is highly encouraged! And yes, asking for seconds of that bread is absolutely okay.

Showroom Restaurant offers an extensive wine list and Sommelier Florian Herbst is happy to suggest a wine-pairing, too.
