If you’re like Sandra and need your daily dose of great caffeine, here’s two of our favorites for coffee in Rome.
Plus an insider tip if it’s less about the cappuccino and all about the location.

At ‘Bar Amore’ the name’s the mission: This little bar’s as local as it gets. Tucked away in a quiet, residential street with just a few tables outside, their coffees are worth the java detour. It’s heaven for anyone craving a coffee in our favorite neighborhood of the Eternal City. Bar Amore spreads the love in form of foamy cappuccinos and strong black Americanos as early as 6 am. The orange juice’s freshly squeezed and inside times’ been standing still for a few decades, too. Grab a seat outside and sip your coffee with a cream-filled cornetto, or, if you are short on time, do as the locals do: oder and drink at the bar.
Bar Amore is on Via dei Banchi Nuovi, 41 and not open on Sundays.

Our second recommendation’s Caffé Tazza d’Oro by the Pantheon. Open daily from 7 am (10 am on Sundays), the Café of the Golden Cup’s an Rome institution. Definitely on the tourist path, Tazza d’Oro’s still a neighborhood place where the locals still grab their first espressi of the day. Located on Via degli Orfani, 84, here you’ll also find a “Coffee Bancomat” — a bean dispenser which is open 24/7.

Already in the neighborhood?
If it’s all about an iconic backdrop you’re after, then Caffè Negresco by then Pantheon’s your spot. Just remember, we recommend it for the views, and not the cup of Joe. A 2.3 rating on google maps is actually quite kind.
